I am not the world’s most talented tennis player, nor am I the worst. I am not the student who knows every answer without even trying, and I am not always the best at remembering things, but I try my hardest, and that usually works out for me. This ninth-grade year, I, Katie S, am going to try my hardest to earn A’s in all my classes so that I can take more honors classes next year.
I am taking Honors English and College Prep Geometry this year, and I hope to do well in Honors English so next year I can take 10th grade Honors English. Also, I need an A in College prep Geometry to be able to go on to Honors Algebra 2, and I also want to take honors science next year. To achieve these goals I will have to work very hard, and some steps I will take to achieving those goals will be setting aside time each night after school for homework and studying, and if I am having trouble with a section I will definitely ask a teacher for help so I can stay caught up. Since I want to get into a good college, so that I can learn to do what I love for a living, I’m hoping all these things will help me with that. I also want to be more involved with school. I want to attend some clubs and get to know more people, and in 11th and 12th grade I want to be in ASB to help my school.
Another goal I want to work on this year is making new friends. In middle school I hung out with my friends from elementary school until 8th grade, when I became a little more social and made new friends. In high school, I hope to make those new friends now instead of at the end of my time in high school. I’ll make new friends by playing sports at VHS and and joining school clubs. Even though we are already close, I want to get closer to my family this year, too.
I also really want to have fun with my sports at VHS. I want to do this year is to really push myself in tennis, and improve my game. Since I’m playing doubles this year I hope to have lots of fun, since doubles is still a little new to me. Also, I hope to make the water polo team this winter, because after practicing with the team over the summer, I realized how much I like the sport. I also want to keep in touch with my friends at VHS, have tons of fun, and have a GREAT time in high school.
